Close to the end of the show, Detective Chief Tibbs refers to Parker Williams as "Officer." Williams was a corporal and deserved the professional dignity of being addressed as such.
The pickup has a flat tire and when the man gets out and looks at his watch it is about 10:50 PM. He then walks at a regular pace on the street. The judge's clock strikes 1 AM just before the man shows up. Later, an officer says the truck was found 10 miles away from the Judge's house. To cover 10 miles in 100 minutes (1.66 hours) means he would have to walk at about 8.5 MPH. An average walking speed for an older person such as the one shown is around 3 MPH, and "racewalkers" can only do between 8 and 9 MPH, so the man could not have covered that distance in the amount of time available.
At the pawn shop the officers arrest the suspect and then leave the evidence (stolen property) on the counter.
