This is the only episode in the entire series where Bill Bixby does not make an original appearance. He is only shown in flashbacks.
Series lead Bill Bixby was not involved in the filming of this episode, which uses several clips from previous segments, and appears, quite briefly, in only a couple of the extracts, with a facially obscured stand-in setting up the climactic "Hulk-out" sequence. The story actually focuses on Jack McGee and the effects his pursuit of the Hulk has had upon his life.
Bill Bixby was unavailable for the episode due to scheduling conflicts with court dates relating to a contentious divorce he was going through at the time. The only original footage of David seen was filmed using Bixby's stunt double.
For the only time in the series, Jack Colvin took centre stage. More is discovered about Jack McGee during the episode.
The character of Jack McGee was given a lot more depth for the first time in the show.
