The prisoner is to be transferred to Miramar, California. During an unlikely sequence of events Mac figures out the false positive result on the drug test for which the defendant was prosecuted. Both Mac and the admiral himself start helping. Meanwhile Harm and Bud represent a senior chief petty officer who is HIV-positive, and who receives harsh treatment from his CO. The senior chief goes through some hard times, then he winds up in a place where he can serve well.—DocRushing
- Mac gets a handful of trouble when she is assigned to guard a female Marine prisoner (who meets every single 'angry black woman' stereotype) after being critical of the Marines originally assigned to the task. A Navy senior chief who contracted HIV after supposedly getting a blood transfusion in Africa seeks help after being exposed by his commanding officer. The admiral ends his engagement to Meredith. Guest-stars Dennis Haskins.
- Mac prosecutes a female Marine for suspected drug abuse. The Marine claims her innocence because of a faulty drug test. After a guilty verdict and sentencing to a year of hard labor, the defendant in anger, assaults Mac in the courtroom. After another hearing four more years are added to the defendant's sentence. Because of overcrowding at the adjacent brig, the prisoner must be escorted cross-country to a different facility. Mac insists that the Marine is a danger to the public and requests a tougher escort. Out of anger for Mac's insubordination to him, the prisoner's former commander assigns Mac to escort the prisoner to the brig. Protests by Mac over the assignment to Admiral Chegwidden fall on deaf ears. As the trip proceeds a connecting flight is missed because the prisoner temporarily escapes to have a cigarette. Mac and the Marine are then stranded for 24 hours in the prisoner's home town of Cleveland. Against better judgement, Mac allows the Marine to visit her estranged daughter. After the visit the Marine gets sick and visits the local ER. This results in the JAG re-examining her case.
