Love at First Charge...

Warning: Spoilers
The scriptures have said that he would return and grace the world once again with his presence. Though we are unworthy, he will be returning. Yes, the unmatched, inimitable Montague Jetson...is coming back. But first, we learn that Mr. Spacely is having marital woes. His wife her mother have redecorated the house so now it's unlivable. At George's suggestion, Spacely decides to butter up the missus with pricey gifts, so he gives George his credit card and has him buy the stuff and deliver it. But enough of that, Montague Jetson comes over for a visit, as feisty and hyper as ever. After he gives them a workout, George decides to turn his chore of shopping for Spacely over to him, and so, Montague hits the mall, Spacely's credit card at the ready. He goes all-out, and during his little shopping spree, two no-goodniks, Typho and Nova, spy on him, thinking he's rich. Um, just because somebody goes wild with a credit card doesn't mean they're rich. It happens every day in 2011. Well, back to 1985, er... 2063, Typho and Nova follow Montague in the car, but little do they know Montague is a very skilled pilot. They lose him, and he delivers the goods to Spacely's, putting the moves on the missus and mother in-law in the process. You sly old dog.

After seeing Montague outside Spacely Sprockets, Typho and Nova presume him to be Mr. Spacely, and not only that, it seems Spacely's mother in-law has taken a shine to ol' Grandpa Jetson, who is presently being whisked away by Nova. What a galactic soap opera this has become. Yeah, it seems Montague is taken more by Nova than Mrs. Meltdown, breaking the old lady's heart time and again. Montague is a player, but sometimes he loses track of individual plays. George tries to intervene, but he can't stop Montague. Nobody can stop him. But desperate to keep his stupid job, George decides to spy on his grandfather, going again with Nova, convinced she's a gold-digger. If he doesn't act fast, he's going to get a very young new grandmother. Yep, Monty's going to propose! George catches Nova with Typho, now convinced more than ever there's trouble brewing in the kettle, while Montague goes to see Spacely and work out that misunderstanding. Unfortunately, the crooks saw them go into Spacely's house, now convinced of where Mr. Money-Bags lives, so now they can rob it. Meanwhile, the whole truth is laid out for Montague, and he realized he was being taken, especially after Nova addressed him as Montague Spacely. So Typho and his men manage to rob the place, but only the gauche furniture picked out by Mrs. Meltdown. Nova decides to go straight and Montague realizes she's no damn good for him, and visa versa. And so, George and Montague spend a nice, quiet evening together...at the space carnival going up a 10 mile high roller coaster.

Grandpa and the Galactic Golddigger...sounds like the title for an action movie. Well, there is a fair amount of action, seeing as how Grandpa Jetson is involved. Now, I wouldn't say she was a gold-digger, but she ain't gonna mess with no broke diggers; nice seeing Montague Jetson again, voiced to perfection by Howard Morris. Man, just imagine what would happen if Montague did marry Mrs. Meltdown: George and Mr. Spacely would be related. What a horrible thought, huh? Anyway, if you like Grandpa Jetson, then give this one a try. It's a great story with a great title, and it really makes you think.
