  The Flash : Uh-oh.

• Green Lantern : You've lost, human.

  The Flash : Maybe you're right. Maybe it is hopeless. But like Granny Flash used to say, why curse the dark when you can light up a 700,000-watt candle?

• Green Lantern : We can use the Javelin. It's got a wormhole generator for interstellar travel.

  The Flash : Uh... more bad news.

  Wonder Woman : [in the Javelin bay, inspecting the damage to the ship]  How long will it take to repair?

  J'onn J'onzz : Too long.

  Hawkgirl : We don't need the whole ship, just the generator.

  J'onn J'onzz : But without the ship's engines behind it, we'll never get close enough to light speed for the generator to trigger a wormhole.

  Superman : Even I can't fly that fast.

  Green Lantern : No, but... give Flash the generator.

  The Flash : Excuse me?

  Green Lantern : I'll use my ring to give you a running start. Our combined speeds might be enough to get the generator to open the wormhole.

  The Flash : That's crazy!

  Green Lantern : You've got a better idea?

• The Flash : J'onn, I had an idea. Can you do one of those Martian mind probes on Diana?

  J'onn J'onzz : Not now. There's been a breach in our security.

  The Flash : Where?

  J'onn J'onzz : In the Javelin bay.

  The Flash : Didn't I tell you? It's that vengeance snake thingy. It's inside Diana.

  Hawkgirl : Impossible. She's been in the medical bay the whole time.

  The Flash : But it's gotta be her.

  Superman : Before we start pointing fingers, call up the Javelin bay security tapes.

  Hawkgirl : [they watch as J'onn takes something off the ship]  J'onn?

  J'onn J'onzz : I don't understand. I have no memory of doing this.

  The Flash : Where have I heard that before?

• The Flash : They can't do that. We have a contract.

  Artie Bauman : Not anymore. Energy bars, track shoes; no one'll touch you, not even public access.

  The Flash : But Godfrey's full of it. Why...

  Artie Bauman : Not to worry. Remember, no such thing as bad publicity. Your name's on everyone's lips. That's a good thing.

  Artie Bauman : [static]  Sorry, kid.

  Artie Bauman : Going through a tunnel. Hello? Hello?

  [hanging up, to the women doing his nails] 

  Artie Bauman : Nice kid, but a few miles short of a marathon.

• Green Lantern : According to J'onn's calculations, the wormhole has to open exactly 7 1/2 minutes into the run. Any earlier, it'll be too far from the sun to have an effect. Any later, and you risk tearing the sun apart through the wormhole. Got it?

  The Flash : No pressure, huh? Let's get this cosmic treadmill rolling.

  Mophir : [cut to a television studio set]  Mophir's job to preserve the world. So when Mophir need fast, fast, fast relief from cramping, burning, itching, Mophir always reach for Gluxitol.

• The Flash : That crazy old coot said this would drive out the bad spirits.

  Green Lantern : Come on, be serious.

  The Flash : You've got to admit, something weird is going on here, so unless you've got a better plan...

  [holding Mophir's gem up to J'onn] 

  The Flash : Hold still. You're clean.

  [holding it up to Diana] 

  The Flash : So's Diana. Superman?

  [as he holds it up, a beam from John's power ring destroys it] 

  Green Lantern : Pathetic humans. We shall lay waste your world.

• Mophir : Death, evil. Now man's time forever eclipsed.

  The Flash : Say what?

  Mophir : Man's time forever eclipsed.

  The Flash : Okay, that's the second time I've heard this tonight. So either you're sharing your delusions with the General or... why don't you tell me all about it?

  Mophir : Long ago, before writing, before cities, man's future uncertain, for he was at war with Ophidians.

  The Flash : Ophidi-whats?

  Mophir : Snakes who walk like men; moon worshippers. After years of struggle, man was wining. Most Ophidians dead, wiped out.

  [during a lunar eclipse, a group of Ophidians perform a ceremonial ritual] 

  Mophir : Here was born Black Diamond, heart of darkness. Any who touched dark heart are possessed by vengeful spirits. Their only goal, destroy humanity. Since that time, Mophir's people guard Dark Heart. Mophir is latest to guard diamond. But evil wants escape. Not Mophir's fault.

  The Flash : But why attack the princess?

  Mophir : Mophir tracked evil to her. Tried to drive out dark ones, but ring man stopped Mophir before he can finish job.

• The Flash : So these dead snake guys are inside Diana, and they want to destroy the world.

  J'onn J'onzz : This is a grave development.

  The Flash : I'm glad you believe me. I know this Mophir guy sounds loony.

  J'onn J'onzz : Diana has been acting strangely since her recovery. We should keep an eye on her.
