This nuclear powered robot is named Brimstone and was made for war by the government in Chong-Mai. This animated version of Brimstone's origin is very different from the origins in the DC comic books where he was a creation of the evil intergalactic super villain Darkseid.
According to the TV Guide for the week of July 25-31, Kin Shriner was so dedicated to his role as Green Arrow that he showed up at the recording studio dressed as the character from the comic book.
Green Arrow's preference for cases that directly affect ordinary people was the subject of a story arc during Gerry Conway's late 1970s-early 1980s run on "Justice League of America", beginning with issue #177 (April 1980). Green Arrow would resign from the League in issue #182 (September 1980), but would rejoin in issue #200 (March 1982).
