De-gaying the son

Warning: Spoilers
This episode was excruciating to watch. It's bad enough I have to watch this show for my elderly mom's sake but this episode was atrocious. The whole premise is Deacons son Kirby is showing signs of intellectual, artistic and creative qualities and in typical American fashion, the jocks are terrified. This episode glorifies football which requires no intelligence and they make so many anti-gay jokes trashing the theatre industry. Doug is lazy and obese but starts playing football which the only positive aspect of it is he is exercising. There is some funny fat jokes but they don't cancel out the jokes and hate towards art, music, theatre, and even one towards the ice capades. I'm assuming they left Arthur out of this episode seeing how Jerry Stiller was a theatre veteran. If the men in this show had more theatre training, perhaps they would be witty and droll instead of beer guzzling imbeciles.
