In tears, he admits to Olivia that he never tried to help her until it was too late and the girl's mother murdered her by throwing her through a plate-glass window. Munch gets very invested in the case and is visibly traumatized by the thought of what the current child endured. He reads her storybooks and gives her a stuffed lion doll while she's unconscious.
  • A mother tells Detective Munch about how she attacked and beat up her daughter because "she wouldn't stop crying". Munch is disturbed by this but plays along with her as a sympathizer.
  • Most of the cop characters have guns or gun belts.
  • The TV show's intro displays the various actors from the show, mixed in with black-and-white shots of traumatized rape victims.
