- Ward and June are thinking about moving. They've found a nice house over in Madison that they like. Wally isn't too keen about moving and having to go to a new school, especially one that is a rival to Mayfield High. After seeing it, Beaver likes the house, even if it does mean going to a new school and leaving his friends. So Ward and June decide to put an offer on the house, which the realtor expects should be accepted by the owner, Mr. Church. Excited about the probable move, Beaver tells his whole class. However, Mr. Church ends up accepting another offer. Beaver feels a little uneasy about having to tell the class he isn't moving to that house, but before he can, they throw him a surprise going away party, complete with gifts. Beaver faces a couple of dilemmas. At home, he has to either sneak the presents into the house without his parents knowing or else explain to them from where he got all the presents. At school, he has to figure out how to tell his classmates he isn't moving like he said without looking like a liar,... and still keep the presents (and thus not look like a crook).—Huggo
