So true, one of the most frightful things as a kid is to stand up in front of your class and talk about your parents! Such is the case here in Mr. Willet's (Wendell Holmes) history class. Beaver's teacher is discussing World War II and asks the class if their parents had any relatable stories.
Of course, it turns out that almost everyone has a distinguished father, not to mention Judy Hensler (Jeri Weil), who wants to be the star of the day. Accordingly, Beave puts in his two cents and makes Ward out to be a legendary gunner! This all prompts Mr. Willets to ask Beave if his dad could stop by to talk more about his gallant exploits?
Naturally, naturally!
What a mess. Although for the moment, Beave faked out Judy but good! That takes the cake here. Now he has to go home and search through Ward's box of momentos. Larry is also on board in this one, pushing Beave to the limit, hoping to find some loose ammo or bombs just lying around the house, right???
Ward isn't a hero when all is said and done, but one heck of a dad. And again, another hard lesson for the Beave. That is for now....
Interestingly, If you recall a few seasons later, Beaver makes up a wild story about June being a jazzy nightclub singer and mixed up with gangsta's! Ohhhhh yes! Watch for it. One of the best.
Guest star Wendell Holmes was a well known radio actor and replaced Nigel Bruce as Dr. Watson in the SHERLOCK HOLMES mystery series. Good trivia question.
Yes, I do agree with the last reviewer. Judy and Eddie Haskell would have made an outrageous couple. Again, another missed opportunity.
