Quotes

  • Perry White : Merry Christmas you two.

Lois Lane : And ho, ho, ho, here's that corruption story... mm, smells like a Pulitzer to me.

Perry White : I will say this about your wife Kent, confidence is one thing she does not lack.

Clark Kent : One of many thing Chief.

  • Clark Kent : Lois? Honey what are you doing in here?

Lois Lane : Taking a breather.

    Clark Kent : You okay?

Lois Lane : Oh Clark, I'm trying, I really am. I know how much you want me to enjoy all this... holiday magic. Maybe I'll feel it more in January when I get the pictures back.

Clark Kent : Oh, hey, I don't mean to pressure you, I'm sorry. You don't have to enjoy the holidays Honey. Sometimes I forget that not everyone sees things the way I do.

Lois Lane : Clark nobody sees things the way you do! But I'd like to. I wanna see what you see.

[Clark leans to kiss her but stops when he hears an alarm]

Lois Lane : That better be sleigh bells you're hearing.

Clark Kent : Haha, bank alarm.

Lois Lane : Great. I can only think of one other person that works on Christmas Eve.

    [Smiles]

    Lois Lane : Go.

  • Clark Kent : Lois can I talk to you for a second? Excuse us for one second.

Lois Lane : What is wrong with you, Clark you're actually being rude?

Clark Kent : Lois, something is going on, he changed time.

Lois Lane : He... what are you talking about?

Clark Kent : Oh, okay I left here, made a couple rescues and when I got back...

Lois Lane : You, you, when did you leave?

Clark Kent : In about 20 minutes.

    Lois Lane : What?

  • Clark Kent : Honey, listen to me, listen to me. This day, is repeating itself. And every time it does people's attitudes are changing. Even that tree out there, that Christmas tree, it's changing.

    Lois Lane : I don't understand.

Clark Kent : I know, I know, cause as far as I can tell I'm the only person stuck inside the loop or outside of it.

    Lois Lane : What loop?

Clark Kent : The time loop.

    Lois Lane : Time loop?

Clark Kent : There's this guy, this creature, he's here I saw him.

    Lois Lane : Where?

Clark Kent : In the elevator when I was coming up earlier.

Lois Lane : Clark we just got here.

Clark Kent : I know but that was before, or it was after. Before or after, I don't even know anymore, I'm not even sure, it's a loop.

Lois Lane : A loop, you keep talking about this loop. Now Clark you know I trust you completely, but I just don't get what you are trying to tell me.

Clark Kent : I know, I know, I just wish there was some way to get you to see it.

  • Lois Lane : Clark things are really deteriorating around here. Your parents are actually snipping at each other, my mother's drinking again, Perry's crying cause he never got to play Santa for his kids and Jimmy's depressed because his girlfriend is a hooker.

Clark Kent : It's not just here, the whole world is falling apart. How are you feeling?

Lois Lane : Not much better than they are I'm afraid. I tried to do what you asked but I don't know.

Clark Kent : You have to remember what I told you.

Lois Lane : It's a loop, don't give into despair.

    Clark Kent : That's right.

Lois Lane : You may have to tell me a few more times.

Clark Kent : I'll say it as many times as you need.

  • Lois Lane : It's happening.

    Clark Kent : What?

Lois Lane : This. It's magic. It's just like you said. I mean, I may not be able to see through walls, but right this second I feel like I can see everything through your eyes.

Clark Kent : Well then you're the lucky one, cause I'm looking at you.

    [They kiss]

  • Clark Kent : Lois just relax, everything is under control, it's going to be a great Christmas.

Lois Lane : How do you know?

Clark Kent : Because Honey it's Christmas and it's our first together in our new home.

Lois Lane : Oh speaking of which we are never going to get the house in shape on time before everyone arrives, without super-cheating that is.

    Clark Kent : Lois...

Lois Lane : And then there's the question of parking?

    [Sees Clark's face]

Lois Lane : Sorry, I don't know what it is about the holidays that does this to me.

Clark Kent : It's just the way you look at them, that's all. You view Christmas like it's a chore, like it's something to get through.

Lois Lane : Well that's the way it feels to me.

Clark Kent : Look around you, what do you see?

Lois Lane : Crass commercialism, conspicuous consumption, gluttony, greed... I'm confusing the 12 days of Christmas with the 7 deadly sins again aren't I?

Clark Kent : Want to know what I see? I see magic.

    Lois Lane : Magic?

Clark Kent : Yeah Honey, magic. And I love it. I just wish that you could too.

Lois Lane : You know what I wish? I wish we could have a nice Christmas alone together, no lists, no guests, nobody needing...

[Sees Clark's face as he hears a call for help]

Lois Lane : ... Superman. What are you hearing?

Clark Kent : Fire trucks, Bedford Street Children's home.

    Lois Lane : Hurry.

  • Mr. Mxyzptlk : Well it's up to you. Do you stay and become the ruination of all of these mortals? Or do you accept banishment and leave their world to me and spare them the suffering?

Clark Kent : I love these people. And that's why... I'm not going anywhere.

Mr. Mxyzptlk : What? Do you have to be hit over the head with a shillelaghly? Don't you get it? It's hopeless.

Clark Kent : There's always a little bit of hope left in the human spirit. And I'll find it.

Lois Lane : You heard him gnome, scram!

Mr. Mxyzptlk : How, how? You're supposed to be frozen.

Lois Lane : Yeah well I thawed out. And Clark's not going anywhere mazel tov.

Mr. Mxyzptlk : Mxyzptlk. Mr. Mxyzptlk. Fine, have it your way.

    [Restarts the day at noon]

Mr. Mxyzptlk : [Lois and Clark come out of the elevator and see things have gotten worse but there is one change...]

Clark Kent : ...Lois, you remember?

Lois Lane : Everything. Even Mxyzptlk, what a name.

    Clark Kent : How?

Lois Lane : It was you. I could feel you rejecting hopelessness. It hit me like a wave. That's what broke me free. And you are not going anywhere!

Clark Kent : No way. But if I'm not going that means he has to.
