The masked Midnight Rider has been robbing only The Esmerelda Mining Company. The Ranger and Tonto investigate and find him, wounded in the shoulder from a recent daylight robbery. They learn that he is Bob Jessup and is stealing only from the Esmerelda Company in order to finance an investigation into his father's murder. Bob believes that Esmerelda owner Jim Benson murdered his father and forged his name on the deed to their ranch. The Ranger believes Bob and will have to figure a way to trap Benson into revealing his guilt. Darryl Hickman plays Bob Jessup. In 1961, he would star in the series "The Americans" about two brothers fighting on opposite sides in The Civil War. It only lasted one season but I really liked it and would love to see the entire series released on DVD.
