The creature that the hermit has on a leash is the same costume featured in an episode of 'Bewitched' called 'Allergic to Macedonian Dodo Birds'.
The formula for the "high explosive" that Dr. Smith drinks is given as C3H5HO2. This is the formula for propionic acid, the substance that gives stale sweat its distinctive smell. Seems very unlikely that Smith would find this as pleasant to drink as he did in the show. It's not explosive either. Scientific accuracy was never a high priority for the script writers, but could this be an "in joke" on the part of the writers.
The lights on the Robots chest have changed in this episode. Previously they had been multicolored but now are an an alternating pattern of five columns, beginning, red, green, red, green, red.
This episode is symptomatic of why Guy Williams and Mark Goddard were becoming increasingly disillusioned with the show's lurch into more comedic territory. One of the "monsters" in this episode is basically someone dressed in a very bad chicken suit. Such scenarios were usually left to Jonathan Harris' character as Williams and Goddard were leary of appearing onscreen alongside such patently poor costuming.
