Senior Lucy Gets Sexually Harassed
kgraovac20 November 2023
Mr. Cheever demands Mooney produce an age-appropriate date for an elderly bank president, so Mooney blackmails Lucy into doing it.

This is an average episode. Lucy's little old lady routine was never one of my favorites. It's almost as bad as the Lucy-in-drag trope. But her senior citizen persona here is more dignified and less grating than in other instances. Still, whenever actors wear aging makeup and play "old" it never comes off as entertaining as they and the writers believe. It's like we are just watching Lucy and guest star Dennis Day play-acting in the worst possible way.

Mooney does a good pratfall over Lucy's handbag in the airport scene. It's above average for this sort of overused gag. Having HIM be the one doing the scheming here is as least unusual for the series.

The scene in Day's apartment has some good points. Seeing the Lucy character visibly ticked off about the whole thing is amusing and her swinging from the drapes is a pretty decent stunt. The twist with him knowing the score all along was a good ending.

When Lucy enters the first scene, a riff of the LUCY SHOW theme is heard as she shows off her new dress to Mary Jane.
