Lucy accidentally breaks Mooney's portable TV set so she moonlights as a car hop to pay for it. While working at the drive-in, she gets involved in helping a young man who is unjustly arrested.
In all honesty, this episode seems very jumbled but for some reason I've always had a soft spot for it. I think it's because of the drive-in scenes where we have that groovy '60s vibe going on. I'm a sucker for any episodes that capture that era (see also "Lucy in the Music World" and "Viv Visits Lucy"). I love watching Lucie Arnaz frugging her little heart out. Also, any appearance by the great Jackie Coogan deserves an extra star. He performs all his pratfalls as gamely as Gale Gordon.
The script contains too many half-baked ideas (Lucy buzzing around the office after downing too many uppers; Lucy assisting a person in need; Lucy wreaking havoc at a drive-in) so it can't be considered great unless you're a major Jackie Coogan fan.
