This episode offers very little in the humor department, and is more of a tender story about an alcoholic has-been lounge singer (Phil Harris) whom Lucy tries to rehabilitate and help with a career resurgence riding on a ballad Phil has written.
Phil as a guest star has little charisma which makes for a pretty boring episode. The best part is seeing Kasey Rogers as his long-lost love. She is sporting her natural reddish hair here, when at the time she was wearing a black wig on Bewitched because her predecessor as Louise Tate (Irene Vernon) had black hair. Rogers would wear her hair natural on Bewitched beginning in 1970, having taken over the role back in 1966. Lucy must have been pleased with Ms. Rogers' work, having her back on the show a few months after filming the stewardess episodes with Carol Burnett.
