Watch It for Lucie and Vanda Barra---NOT Goulet
kgraovac4 October 2023
It seems like the stunt casting of a famous celebrity playing themselves and their lookalike was an almost annual occurrence on both The Lucy Show and Here's Lucy. Here the guest is Robert Goulet, but he's just not funny enough to pull it off.

Mary Wickes is wasted playing Goulet's neurotic secretary as the role is beneath her talents. The best part of the episode occurs at the beginning where Lucy lunches with her friend Dottie-played by 16-year-old Lucie Arnaz. It's amazing how mature Lucie looks in this episode compared to the following year on Here's Lucy where she looked her actual age again-hairstyle and clothing go a long way here in letting Lucie pass as a sophisticated young working woman.

The restaurant scene is also a great showcase for Lucy regular Vanda Barra who almost steals the scene from both Arnaz ladies! It's the best part of an otherwise lackluster installment.
