Lucy Is Written as an Imbecile
kgraovac22 November 2023
Lucy cashes a check for Sid Caesar, not knowing the guy is actually a lookalike crook named Freddie the Forger.

Another of the celebrity "double" shows and one of the worst of its' ilk. Your enjoyment of this one will depend on your feelings towards Sid Caesar. I've never been a fan, but the episode is not very well-written. The subplot with the dieting is silly and not funny. This episode should have been buried in the middle of the season and the series should have placed a few stronger episodes near the end to bow out more gracefully.

Lucy comes across like a complete imbecile here. Even the opening scene has her not knowing how to do simple arithmetic. Carole Cook plays the efficient co-worker who helps her out.
