Not gonna lie - this one's kind of a bore. Watching two old ladies take karate lessons is not great entertainment. This must have been one of those instances where the writers just pulled out their list of "What Zany Situation Can We Drop Lucy Into Next" and try to craft an episode around it.
The lesson sequence drags on and on and it's not very funny. All the ladies do is bounce around the mat mimicking the instructors. There is a lot of audience chatter as Lucy prepares to chop the block with her hand.
Lucy calls her son "Jerome" in this episode during the black eye scene. The only decent part of the episode is when, after Jerry uses the judo moves Lucy taught him on Sherman, Lucy throws Vivian's words back at her.
Having them mistake Harry for a prowler and attacking him TWICE in the same episode shows how thin the writers were stretching this one.
