Mr. Cheever's nephew is given a job at the bank, but when Lucy discovers his singing talent, she schemes to have him discovered.
Frankie Avalon plays Tommy Cheever and performs three musical numbers in this episode, which is like a remake of the Wayne Newton episode of Season 4 where Lucy helped another talented young man break into show business. Avalon sounds like he's ready for the supper-club circuit here, but the last number is very snappy and energetic. Avalon makes an Annette Funicello reference that is bittersweet in retrospect.
This is Lew Parker's second LUCY SHOW appearance in a year. He was playing Marlo Thomas' father on THAT GIRL when this was filmed.
At the very end, we see just how well Mr. Mooney and Mr. Cheever can cut a rug.
