"Broke, My Foot!"
kgraovac25 October 2023
After admonishing the kids for not picking up their stuff, Lucy is informed by Viv that if, in fact, someone DID get injured in her home, Lucy could be sued. No sooner does Viv walk into the kitchen, she then sprains her ankle tripping over Jerry's toy.

Mr. Barnsdahl (Charles Lane is so dry, compared to Gale Gordon) arrives to inform Lucy her liability insurance has lapsed and technically Viv DOES have A leg to stand on (get it, LOL). When Lucy overhears Viv complaining on the phone to her lawyer about her deadbeat ex's late alimony payments and Viv shouts "Broke, my foot!", the hilarity begins.

Actually, this episode isn't that hilarious. They do the old "bedridden-person-rings-bell and drives caregiver crazy" routine. Sometimes it's satisfying to see Lucy get hers - but here it's not as fun because Viv's just doing it for kicks and Lucy doesn't deserve this treatment because it really was an accident.

The best part is when Lucy tries to prove Viv's faking. Lucy feigns being attacked by a prowler and after the funniest performance in the episode, Viv just deadpans "Where's my cup of tea?".

Lucy wears her natural hair in this one and sports minimal makeup so looks her real age.
