Lucy steals from Fred and blackmails Ethel to help

While in Japan Lucy wants to buy genuine Japanese pearls and a camera and stoops so low as to steal $200 from Fred's wallet while he's asleep. Ethel initially refuses to help, but Lucy forces her with blackmail.

It's not enjoyable to see Lucy steal from and blackmail her best friends. This is not the innocent Lucy we've loved from the "I Love Lucy" show and it was glaringly apparent that it was time to pull the plug on this series.

So sad it was leading to this.

Even in black and white you could Lucy's eyes were red from the emotional turmoil she was going through with her marriage to Desi on the rocks. Desi's appearance was less obvious but you could easily tell from the last few episodes that he too was suffering. The worst part of this episode is Lucy blackmailing Ethel to steal from Fred ( with intention to return The money) but it wasn't even humorous. 2 maybe 3 of these 1 hour episodes were plausible and fun but sometimes the show doesn't have to go on.

The only episode harder to watch was the final one titled " Lucy meets the Mustache " The unbearable drama going on behind the scenes and a completely ridiculous plot made for a terrible episode but watching it, Lucy and Desi can't even fake liking each other much less being the Loving Ricardo's. They pulled the plug but not before the damage was done.

I love Lucy Was great...This not so much.

I am a huge I Love Lucy Fan, but the show just progressed to such a terrible show after the original series ended. I was just watching this episode of their Japan visit this evening. I was shocked to find out Lucille Ball was only 48 and even worse Desi was only 42 years old!!! They look SO OLD in this show. Minimally, I thought Lucy and Desi were both very close to 60 or even older. I would say neither of them aged well at all! I am sure all their smoking didn't help. I was very shocked!
