Glorified Clip Show
aramis-112-80488010 October 2022
Actually, the notion behind this episode isn't bad. It's the return of MacGyver's old lady-love/Nemesis played by Kristian Alfonso, looking much more gorgeous than she ever did on "Days of Our Lives." When she strips off her hood it's heart-seizure time for most men.

Mac, Pete and Jack are panning for gold (well, why not?) and Alfonso tracks them into the woods with murder on her mind.

Frankly, when she was in the earlier episode (where MacGyver was blinded) she was both scary and hilarious. This time she's simply lovely, but when she arches an eyebrow it's still funny.

Unfortunately, it's a clip show so when the guys get outwitted and tied up together they take time to reminisce. Well, why not? Nothing else to do when a mad woman on the rampage for vengeance in the greenwood against your best friend has tied you up good and proper than exchange war stories.

It's such a waste to have Alfonso back and have half the episode (or more) wasted on flashbacks. The ways of MacGyver's writers are mysterious their wonders to perform. I wish I'd been one (I'm a writer whose works have been dramatized for radio but not for television).

Anyway, love her. Hate the premise.

Clip Episode with a Sad Ending
starlina7up24 February 2024
Warning: Spoilers
Its true everyone doesn't like Clip Episode but in this case I am not among the clip episode haters. Macgyver and Peter helps Jack to find Gold in the water while on a fishing trip but Jack gets disappointed that the gold he finds much less he bargained. Macgyver and Pete tried to reason Jack that there's no short cuts to getting rich but old school hard work. Despite getting blamed for his crazy schemes to his treasure hunting Jack has come through for Macgyver and Pete thanthey give him credit for. But trouble emerges when Pete is attacked by someone from Macgyver's past and soon Macgyver and Jack soon find Pete's belonging and Jack is also captured. The Captor is revealed to be the evil Deborah, Macgyver's former girlfriend. Its revealed that Pete and Jack were captured as bait to lure Macgyver into Deborah's trap. Macgyver knows Deborah's connving deception as she tried to kill him before.

As she tries to kill Macgyver Deborah falls over the clip Macgyver tries to help her but she stabs before falling to her death. Realizing that suicide was her last resort if she didn't succeed in getting revenge Macgyver realized that Deborah was far beyond redemption even she served time in jail. Pete reminded both Jack and Macgyver about the Scorpion story on how it relates to Deborah's mad mental instablity. A Strong reminder that evil action have consequences.

Clips episode

No one likes clips episodes, except studios because they're cheap. I accept they happen (though I'd actually just rather have a shorter season), but making a season finale a clips episode? No. That's just bad. All season finales should be good episodes.

Why didn't Deborah turn to the good side?
karl_eichholtz_1313 August 2022
Warning: Spoilers
When Deborah was released from prison, she should've turned to the good side thanks to her testimony against Mr. Knapp. But no, she stays evil and tries to kill Pete and Jack Dalton, MacGyver. Dalton should've tried to redeem her to make her a friend to fill the void left by the late Mike Forrester. Instead, Deborah's gone for good...

She crossed the moral event horizon.
