Play Holly for me

Gretchen Corbett plays Holly Fox (not Holly Foxx) and I really loved this episode which was kind of a trip back to the 60s and 70s where we hear more-than-decent cover versions of the tracks from the sixties and seventies. Someone needs to add these tracks to this episode's IMDb page.

There's a Play Misty for Me theme to this fine episode that can easily make one very nostalgic. I love TC's reference to Cicely Tyson and Chaka Khan.

Holly is a D. J. for 102.7, and you can imagine the soothing Honolulu waves breezing their way through the station and air waves. We get a flashback to Magnum's days in Vietnam during the American war.

One Bad Episode

This has to be one of the worst Magnum episodes of all of their 8 seasons. Gretchen Corbett, who played Rockford's lawyer from The Rockford Files is playing a DJ named Holly Husdon, who Magnum hears on Hawaiian radio and remembers her from the Vietnam War. So Magnum goes to the radio station for an autograph and Holly ends up hiring Magnum to find her long lost love last seen in Vietnam. In a side plot, Magnum, TC and Rick are building a mysterious outdoor structure ordered by Robin Masters. Higgins feels left out and begins to have symptoms of a cold, but it's him just being "psychosomatic" according to Magnum. The ending could've used a re-write, but by then I was just ready to move on to the next episode.
