Milton Berle's 'Texaco Theatre' ended in June 1956.
The premise of this story --- a corporation's hiring of someone to be a "court jester" --- was reused in the final episode of Bill Dana's show, which was a spinoff of this series, and was produced by Danny Thomas's production company.
