Mr. Daly is visiting the family in between construction jobs when he gets a call they've hired someone younger. Several days of unsuccessful phone calls later Danny is worried, his father-in-law isn't insulting show-business or hollering at him. Danny comes up with a plot to make Mr. Daly believe the family needs him as a business manager to handle their finances. That solves Mr. Daly's problem, but gives Danny one: how to maintain his entertainment contacts on $10 a week when he can't even sign his own cheques.
