Classic 90s sitcom with love in every stitch
funkyfresh918 May 2013
Everyone with a soft-spot for 90s television needs to sit through even the first season of Malcolm in the Middle. It's the most sincere sitcom-family you'll ever see, and every character has a place in your own family. I remember growing up feeling like Malcolm all the time, and now watching it again, I have way more in common with Francis the ne'er-do-well. What makes this show amazing are the exceptionally well-casted characters, the fun writing and crazy plot situations, and how perfectly relatable every bit of it is. You feel like you're sitting in on your average, crazy week in the lives of this outrageous, yet realistic middle class family, while they grow and learn the same way I did growing up: making mistakes. All the while there's sharp, hilarious dialogue that feels honest coming from the last great golden-age of sitcoms. If you're reading reviews just watch the show, you'll know in the first ten minutes if it's for you.

He's Very Different... In His Brain!

Warning: Spoilers
This is such a great pilot episode. It's way funnier than I remember. Extremely impressive for a first outing. It holds up so well even after all of these years.

We get introduced to the family with Hal getting his back hair shaved at the kitchen table. That tells you all you need to know about this crazy Unconventional family.

All of the family members get time to show off their personalities and everything fits so well.

Malcolm's narration is charming. We learn about him being a genius in this episode which I'm sure will become a huge part of the show.

Just a fantastic start to an extremely funny show. I love how Stevie pretends to get knocked over by the bully.

I love Francis's comment about simmering homoeroticism- this is such a clever and well written show.

Warning: Spoilers
After finishing season 1 of gomorra on 101220, I came here.

I watch series season by season.

After seeing criminal world in that series, I wanted something funny. I did not know episodes are short here but it is sitcom.

Episode review:

I really liked episode. I laughed, mostly close to endings.

Such a relax family. Nudity is not problem.

There are also not only white people as main characters as i understood. It was good.

It is classic 90's sitcom, USA sitcom. I hope i enjoy next episodes too

Yes, No, Maybe, I don't know, could you repeat the question?

Hmm... I saw the pilot... and i liked it! It's about this boy, Malcolm Wilkerson (Frankie Muniz, Big Fat Liar) learns he is gifted with intelligence, but has 2 crazy siblings, his older brother Reese, (Justin Berfield, Wanted) and his little brother, Dewey (Erik Per Sullivan, Joe Dirt), plus his older, sort of crazy brother, Francis (Christopher Masterson, Scary Movie 2). His mother, Lois (Jane Kaczmarek, unknown films) who is cynical and his totally bizarre dad, Hal (Bryan Cranston). Can he survive???? Watch this sitcom! Really funny, even though there is no laugh track (strange...). So on Central Time at 6:30 or 7:30, watch it, laugh out loud and if you like it, watch it 4evur!!! XD!
