"Mannix" A Small Favor for an Old Friend (TV Episode 1974) Poster

Sondra Blake: Kit Endocott

Quotes

  • Kit Endocott : [opens the door to her apartment]  Joe.

    Joe Mannix : Hello, Kit.

Kit Endocott : Hi. Come on in. Uh, can I get you anything, Joe? You want coffee to drink or something?

Joe Mannix : No thanks. I... didn't hear about Harry until just this morning.

    [hands Kit a letter]

Joe Mannix : Was he in some kind of trouble?

Kit Endocott : I hadn't talked to him in more than two months.

Joe Mannix : Kit, just what happened between you two?

Kit Endocott : One blonde too many.

[Joe lights a cigarette for her]

Kit Endocott : Good, old, loyal friend, Joe, huh? You know, if this hadn't happened, and Harry called on you for help, I'll bet you'd have just come running, wouldn't you?

Joe Mannix : He would've done the same for me.

Kit Endocott : Harry never did anything in his life for anybody but Harry. That time he pulled you out of the burning half-track, he did it to prove he was the better man. You didn't know your old friend. You just didn't know him at all.

Joe Mannix : Kit, he's dead.

Kit Endocott : Then there's nothing more for you to do, so you can go back to Los Angeles. Please.

Joe Mannix : [sighs]  Would you have any idea why someone would set up an apartment to make it look like as though it were mine?

Kit Endocott : No, I don't know why. But he's dead, Joe. It just doesn't matter anymore. Go home.

Joe Mannix : I think I'll stick around a while, Kit. I want to know who Art Butler saw yesterday. It certainly wasn't me. Anyway, if you think of something, give me a call. I'm sure I'm in the book.
