A funny, sad final episode
gridoon202426 October 2016
Warning: Spoilers
So this is where it all ends! Funny, it seems like a daunting task to watch 263 episodes of a single series, but now that I've seen them all again in chronological order (over a period of several months), I would happily watch at least 100 more! This TV show is more than a TV show, it's a part of American (counter)culture - and of my life. This final episode is funny, not one of the funniest, but certainly stronger than the previous episode, "How To Marry A Moron". Al gets to throw his last great shoe-store insult ("I just don't see anything I like" - "You ought to sit on my stool!"), Bud suffers a tremendous amount of abuse from Kelly, Peg and Jefferson as they try to "help" him, and - strangely enough - Marcy is nowhere to be seen! I think that proves beyond the shadow of a doubt that this was never intended to be the final episode, circumstances gave it that place in the "MWC" legacy. Can I get a "Whoaaaaa....Bundy!"?

Last Final Episode!
Sylviastel10 December 2009
It's hard to believe that this episode aired after the series was canceled after 11 years. This long-running series was truly mistreated at the very end. This show started the Fox Network and is still missed by it's fans including myself. The show evolved and changed from a show about 2 couples (Bundys and Rhodes) to the Bundys and Darcys. At first, we expected to see childless Rhodes become parents but it didn't because Steve Rhodes (David Garrison's character) left the show after 3 seasons to return to New York City and the Broadway theater. When you thought the show was over, they brought in Ted McGinley who outlasted as Jefferson Darcy and became Al's best friend as well as neighbor. In this episode, Al and Griff learn to barter their way in the business and it gets out of hand of course.

It's goodbye to the Bundys.

This final episode starts off fun with Kelly putting her new masseuse skills to use on Bud. "There's a sound I haven't heard before," she says as she paralyses her brother. Jefferson tries to help Bud with a technique he learnt in an Asian massage parlour, but he only makes matters worse. All of this is very amusing.

Less funny is Al bartering the shoe shop's stock in order to try and get himself a fancy electric massage chair: the Swedish Ecstasy 5000. This part is rather tedious and drawn out, but there is a chimpanzee involved, so it's not a total loss. At the end, the chimp puts his hand underneath the waistband of his pants, just like Al -- now THAT is comedy.

I like the bit where they trade the shoes for various goods and services
