The last day on earth with Daddy (the dad), Pumpkin, Grand Dragster D and the red curse (dvd)

Warning: Spoilers
Well, in this cold and gloomy winter happening in this crazy and oppressive world today, it's still great to get back home and have laugh at least!

So this show is a really gold nugget for that and i can't name another one so funny!

From the start of this 6th season, i see clearly one factor to this success. Having original characters isn't enough. Each year, you have to confront them to a new dynamic to avoid boredom (unfortunately, "simpsons" miss that for nearly 20 years!).

This season, the 3rd kid was a good addition. At first, I thought it was a joke from Peggy but it seemed for real but sadly, it ended in a strange but (respectful) way in (6.11), which is by the way an excellent parody of film noir and hard-boiled detective. This is also the last appearance of miss Lords in the show and as I have only seen her work there, I would say that she has talent!

Another new trend is bud's avatar, GrandMaster B, who is a funny parody of prince of Bel-air.

A thing that i have noticed is that son and father has a peculiar taste for shirts. For example, every time Al is on vacation, he dresses Hawaian and when he gets rich, he wears tuxedo.

As stinkers, i throw (6.6): it's a new show about Peggy's family and I understand Al's feelings about them! Another one is (6.14) because nothing happens here!

The best episodes are the Bundy's hammer curse (6.3), the cute paternal caring for the pumpkin (6.4) or for his son (6.16). Maybe Al is a failed husband and father, but i wish my father had talked like him sometimes! (6.20) follows this idea where, in spite of (or because of) Bud's dangerous affair with a teacher, the last five minutes are really non-stop laugh !Al's commercial (6.15) is an iconic moment because it's only a Bundy would achieve fame like this! The one about glasses (6.7) is so funny because it's unexpected to see a bad new turning into something good (or the opposite!). The return of Steve was good too but it was a bit sad to see him and Marcie getting hard on each other! So divorced people aren't happier than married ones!

My season pick is the England trip because the stories aren't just throw-away and it's really a production in London. It's really a good effort, nearly a Bundy Movie!

So now, 12/21/12, I hope it won't be the end of the world because I have got still 5 more seasons to see, without forgetting 5 of "X-Files", 3 of "Saving Grace",1 of "Shameless" and a last handful movies of Al and Penelope.

Laughter in a can.
BA_Harrison13 December 2022
Part two of this three-parter sees the people of Upper Uncton carrying out a series of bungled assassination attempts of the kind to be found in Inspector Clouseau films. The hits never go as planned, with Marcy and Jefferson being blown up by a bomb in an elevator.

However, this cartoonish nonsense isn't the worst thing about this episode: it dawned on me that I didn't find this one (or the first part) very funny largely because of the canned laughter. As annoying as all the whooping 'n' hollering from a live audience can be at times, at least it feels real. The fake laugh track here is really distracting.

There's also a really bad montage to rival the one wear Al buys glasses, only this time it's the Bundys in a Savile Row tailors, the scene set to Right Said Fred's 'I'm Too Sexy', and we get a not-very-funny-in-hindsight gag about Princess Di and Prince Charles.

The part where Bud is visited by the ghosts of his ancestors could have been fun, but it doesn't deliver the laughs and the special effects look cheap.

Meanwhile, Marcy and Jefferson's attempts to locate the Bundys leads them to a London S&M club.
