OK episode
Rrrobert28 August 2019
This episode suddenly introduces Mary's close friends, Jack and Linda Foster (Bert Convy and Beth Howland). Considered by Mary to be the perfect couple, they nevertheless seem prickly with each other so it is no surprise when they suddenly split up. It is also no surprise when Jack and Mary start dating, though Mary feels terrible about it.

Jack and Linda are pretty annoying, but there are plenty of scenes with the regulars which are funny. There's a great naturalistic conversation between Mary and Murray, and Rhoda keeps the laughs flowing.

Meanwhile Ted has had his hair styled and promised the barber he would plug him on the show.

Two shots with Mary and Rhoda from this episode are used in the titles sequence.

Bert Convey, What a Bore
Hitchcoc8 February 2017
Mary invites what she thinks is the perfect couple to dinner. They are old friends and represent an example for her to aspire to. They have a pleasant evening and arrange a lunch date for the next day, except he is the only one that shows up. He tell Mary that they are separated and are planning to divorce. It doesn't take the guy five minutes to start putting the moves on Mary. And she falls right into it. Of course, now the guilt starts and the psychological reasoning about the appropriateness. Meanwhile, Ted Baxter gets his hair done by a stylist (I just threw that in there so I wouldn't forget). So Mary and this wire- haired spaniel played by Bert Convey continue to see each other. The episode wasn't up to the most recent one.
