The Joys of Sisterhood
Hitchcoc2 March 2017
This is a top ten episode. The situation is funny enough. Sue Ann Nivens has a younger sister who has always been a thorn in her side. She is a Southern girl with a thick accent and the most stereotypical sugar-pie mentality. She's also smart and competent. Sue Ann felt that this girl always got everything she wanted. For one thing, she is nice to people and complimentary. Mary has a party, and the next thing you know, this girl starts going to sporting events with Lou (who Sue Ann says is hers). Well, the kicker is when the sister lands a job in Minneapolis and suddenly poses a threat to Sue Ann. There are all kinds of mean spirited comments made to Sue Ann and she runs out of the office, refusing to do her show. The whole gang goes to see her because Mary insists they be nice to her. Her bedroom becomes the funniest thing in the show. Murray asks if it was designed by a sex maniac. The final scene when Mary goes back into the bedroom after the others have left is to die for. I'd forgotten how absolutely amazing this is. I might stack it up against Chuckles the Clown.

Sue Ann's sister
Rrrobert3 March 2020
Fun straight-ahead comedy episode.

Sue Ann's sister Lila (Pat Priest), who was always the favourite and became a rival of Sue Ann's, visits from the south. She is attractive and warm, and hits it off with Lou, sparking Sue Ann's jealousy. Then Sue Ann is devastated when Lila auditions as host of a rival TV cooking show in Minneapolis. Mary bands the newsroom together to support Sue Ann.

There are many funny moments and lots of strong comedy here.

The guys weren't really tough on Sue Ann, as Mary says, just insensitive. And Sue Ann was being unreasonable anyway. Sue Ann is of course the worst sexual harasser depicted by the series, here jumping on Lou for an aggressive liplock (again).
