In the lobby of Bonnie's hotel and you can hear "B.B. Murchison" and "Jack Haferman" being paged. They were characters in The Day New York Turned Blue (1976).
On initial broadcast, this episode was shortened by 5 minutes to make room for a political program at the end. When it was rerun in June 1977, it had a higher rating and a much higher placing (No. 15) than it did on the initial broadcast. (This is the only episode to air both the original and the repeat in a later time slot than the regular "Sunday Mystery Movie," which normally ran before "The Big Event." Some of the original episodes were shown as the back ends of "Sunday Mystery Movie" double features, strictly throwaways.)
The Oklahoma road side diner (the "Sooner's Stop") where the truckers met is the same inside and outside sets as the one used for Rocky's diner in The Attractive Nuisance (1978).
