Terry Carter is promoted in the opening credits (and given a substantially larger role in the series) beginning with this episode.
This episode features a rather outrageous "cat fight" between Stephanie Powers and Linda Evans. Years later, Evans would also be known for being involved in recurring cat fights between herself and Joan Collins on the show Dynasty.
McCloud's usual girlfriend Chris Coughlin doesn't appear in this and he is instead dating someone named Geri March, played by Linda Evans, which was her only appearance on the show. Like Chris she was the Society reporter for the newspaper. Chris would not appear at all during the fourth season, and would not reappear until the end of the fifth season.
Samantha mentions that Etta Place was the girlfriend of Butch Cassidy. In real life, Etta was the partner of the Sundance Kid.
