Homage to Bonnie And Clyde and The Sting
bkoganbing28 January 2015
Some dumb luck helps McCloud crack a case involving the shooting of a movie at the Plaza Hotel that is the cover for a jewelry store robbery at Kimberly's (Tiffany's). It all happens when Chief Clifford assigns McCloud to crowd control at the shooting of the movie which is a cross between Bonnie And Clyde and The Sting.

The film is all a cover financed by mob boss Marc Lawrence with an idea brought to him by Fernando Lamas. Things start to unravel when Lamas is forced to kill the guy who brought him the original idea who was shaking him down. Wouldn't you know it, the movie shooting is shifted over to Central Park and the body is discovered.

Dennis Weaver also has Larry Hagman the lead in the film tagging along to prove he's not just a TV detective. He's got some Rona Barrett like gossip columnist played by Toni Holt getting on his case. He's really no help and even the patient Terry Carter starts losing patience with McCloud.

In the meantime for a little morale boost Weaver is getting a little nookie from female lead Leslie Parrish. She's enough to inspire anybody.

With Chief Clifford's usual ulcer ridden McCloud bashing you have all the ingredients for a fine episode. No credit at all given to that group of passing Little Leaguers who really help solve the crime.

You'll have to see the show to find out how.
