- Garvey: Eh, make this a TCN. Top Clearance Necessary. That way, eh, you have clearance for everybody connected with your project.
- Margaret Hart: You must be Hank. René sent me.
- Sam McCloud: Well, I'm very grateful to René, but I think you made a mistake.
- Margaret Hart: You're not Hank?
- Sam McCloud: Sam.
- Margaret Hart: Look Sam, you're the only one in here who could be Hank. Unless...
- [looks at the waiter]
- Little Ben: [shakes his head] Ben.
- Margaret Hart: So you have to be Hank, right?
- Sam McCloud: Right. 'Cept I'm still Sam.
- [Margaret gives up and leaves]
- Little Ben: [leans over counter] Hey, if I were you, I'd have been Hank.
- George Faraday: [after learning McCloud is a cop] He killed Hank.
- David Curran: Hm, he chased Hank. Hank did the rest.
- Peter B. Clifford: Well, congratulations, McCloud. You're now known in journalistic circles as "the man with the Golden Hat".
- Margaret Hart: I hate to say it, but my head's clearing up.
- Sam McCloud: Good.
- Margaret Hart: But my stomach just fell off.
- Sam McCloud: We're just followin' up on the Cook case. I thought maybe somethin' dropped outta my hat.
- Peter B. Clifford: I'll tell ya what fell out of your hat: your brains.
- Sam McCloud: [Sam's hat is being examined by a lab man] Hey, Mac, go eh, go a little easy with that, that's the only one I brought to New York.
- Peter B. Clifford: I give the orders around here. Ripp it up.
- Lab Technician: Sorry, Chief, there's nothing here. I could throw it under the spectroscope if you want.
- Peter B. Clifford: You can throw it under a bus for all I care. I'll write this up as one more nut who's
- Sam McCloud: I have a feeling there's a conspiracy.
- Peter B. Clifford: Conspiracy? That's a lotta words. What kind of a conspiracy?
- Sam McCloud: Well, I'm not exactly sure, but you know this Ballet Company, it's sinking faster than a hog in a bog.
- David Curran: [looking at McCloud from a distance] I need my glasses to be sure.
- René Jauvert: I wouldn't. Can there be two costumes in all of New York like that one?
- George Faraday: No, that looks more like a uniform to me.
