One of the funniest!

In my opinion, this is one of the best episodes of the series. The physical comedy involving Joe Flynn and Tim Conway while they are handcuffed together is hilarious. In particular, watch the interplay in the crew's quarters when the Captain is first trying to leave with Parker, and then the scene in Capt. Binghamton's office with Lt. Carpenter and then McHale. I would be surprised if there weren't some minor injuries inflicted during the mayhem. Is it silly? Of course. But it's very entertaining. Not sure Joe Flynn and Tim Conway get enough credit for this series and Ernest Borgnine and Bob Hastings are great as well.

Thought this was going to be interesting, I was wrong

This episode started out so hopeful with everything going along nicely then the show made a situation where Binghamton and Parker are handcuffed together for about twenty minutes of the show. The handcuff may have been interesting the first 5 minutes but the remaining 15 minutes it turned into a long painful trek that lost most of the interest by the time the show wraps up in an even more surreal situation.

The story begins with interest when Binghamton discovers Ensign Parker's diary that has all the colorful things the men have been doing. The book contains things like stealing supplies, selling a jeep and making home-brew. Binghamtom has enough evidence to provide Admiral Parker for court-martial of the entire crew.

But during the night the diary is stolen from Binghamton's safe. Binghamton goes and arrest Parker so that he can personally account for things in the diary. Binghamton handcuffs Parker to his arm so that nothing can happen to him before he gets to the Admiral. But when the plane they are riding has an engine fire, the handcuffs places them in many awkward situations.

Again the situation started off well but how many laughs can you get with the same gig. There was even a part when Binghamton first handcuffs the two together and an almost two minutes scene happens with Binghamton and Parker trying to get together through some sort of window. That was about the time the joke had run its course. And that is about time most viewers will check out.
