At the beginning of the episode, you see Dan Briggs driving past the "Fehrle Lumber Co.". Philip D. Fehrle was a production assistant / assistant to executive producer on the series.
Dan Briggs drives a 1966 Lincoln Continental four-door convertible, one of the heaviest passenger cars (5,712 pounds) ever sold due to the numerous frame reinforcements it had, in comparison to the sedan version.
Mark Lenard (Felipe Mora) is perhaps best known for his appearance in the role of Sarek, the father of Spock, in the second-season episode Journey to Babel (1967). He was the first actor to play a Romulan, a Vulcan, and a Klingon in the Star Trek franchise.
This was the first of 23 episodes of "Mission: Impossible" written by Laurence Heath, who would eventually get a solo screenwriting or story credit on more episodes of the series than anyone else. (Co-authors, and later series producers, William Read Woodfield and Allan Balter are credited as co-authors on 24 episodes.)
The outdoor street scenes in the "Twelfth District" town were filmed on the same 40 Acres backlot where many other Desilu television series were filmed, especially "The Andy Griffith Show." If one slows down the quick pans of the town, various (re-dressed) landmarks from the Griffith Show are visible, including the doorway to Walker's Drugstore, the Courthouse where Sheriff Taylor often sat, and the "Opie Steps" (a porch in the corner of one facade where Opie was often seen sitting). In addition, the gas station where "Miguel Cordova" and Cinnamon end up getting stuck is a re-dress of "Wally's Filling Station" where both Gomer and Goober Pyle worked.
