In his latest attempt to get Miss Farnaby to start letting her hair down, Mulberry enters her into the village quiz, she's all setz but a spanner is thrown into the works, when her glamorous sister Adele arrives for a visit.
I'm struck by the sheer quality of this first series, it is truly on point once again, It's another top notch, high quality episode.
It's almost too sad, too sour to be a comedy, it's funny, but it's all tinged with sadness, and Miss Farnaby's story, her coming back to life as it were, has a very black cloud having overhead.
Just when you think Rose is going to get one over on her sister.......well written, creative to not give us the conclusion we'd hoped for.
Caroline Blakiston is charming as Adele, always so good, and so well cast, unusual for her to play an unpleasant character, so elegant and smart, such a contrast to poor drab Rose.
9/10.
