Jessica Fletcher : And I wanted to be a good teacher.

Sally Wilson : Yeah, but your father didn't buy the school. Mine's negotiating to buy the publishing house.

Jessica Fletcher : Which would make him my publisher.

Sally Wilson : And my boss. Goodbye credibility. Once again, I'd be a rich kid dabbling in one of Daddy's companies.
Jessica Fletcher : Well, I can certainly testify for your excellence as an editor. And as you know, I'm not that easy to please.

Sally Wilson : Simon Legree in a skirt.

Sgt. Tom Jarrow : Well, actually, it's, uh, it's you I wanted to see.

Jessica Fletcher : Me?

Sgt. Tom Jarrow : Yeah, I wanted to let you know I was serious about taking that course of yours. I just put in for a leave of absence.

Sally Wilson : Well, you realize, you'll have to live in the city for a while.

Sgt. Tom Jarrow : Yeah. Well, then, I guess I'll just have to make the best of it. Won't I...

Sgt. Tom Jarrow : Won't I?

[Tom starts kissing Sally]

Jessica Fletcher : I hope you'll keep one or two evenings free for studying.

[while still kissing, each hold up a hand with the 'Ok' gesture]
