They made a lot of episodes in such a short time

This was odd, because it was weird to see a short film that wasn't really a short film before the feature. It was part of an episode of "General Hospital" or something. It's very hard to go wrong with making fun of soap operas. Looking back, it's weird how much those things have fallen. I don't think I was even aware that show was ever in black and white! Well, duh it was in the beginnings of TV. The segments were great in this episode, especially the one with Gypsy singing. I just love her funny voice in these scenarios. It might be because Gypsy is one of the few female characters I can actively imitate.

They also did a weird variant with the ending credits. John Banner's voice is heard over the usual music. They rarely did stuff like that in the show, so it's nice to hear something different. The funniest parts of the whole episode were probably every time they ripped on Bobby. The best part was probably him saying, "What if you could talk?" followed by the riff, "What if you could act?". I also loved "Please hit Bobby". Call me a nerd, but it's nice to hear references to outdated newspaper comics, like the Lockhorns here. Dang, there was a lot of stuff deader than disco referenced here. I guess I just like obscure humor. I laughed out loud a lot watching this. It's just as good as the Joel years ever were. ****
