Finally, the disease in the IAD is located and addressed. But not before all kinds of gyrations are needed to keep Andy from harm. Bobby is true to himself throughout and decides that if he is done in by the bad guys, he will take a hike. Gina is pregnant. Who? What? Etc. James is willing to be a husband, but there are some pretty (if you'll excuse the use of words) pregnant questions.

A generally repulsive season focusing on bodily functions, sex crimes, and crimes against children

Typical of the decline of tv series that start strong as NYPD Blue did, Season 5 resorts to the worst sort of sensationalism, violence, and toilet 'humor' in a vain effort to hang on to viewers. Questioning suspects is rarely as interesting as it was in Seasons 1 and 2, with trickery and beatings the primary approaches. Imagine going from John Kelly and Janice Licalsi trying to keep their relationship alive, to the ludicrous Greg Medavoy's frantic weight loss and attempts to impregnate a lesbian couple.
Could the decline be any steeper? What a pity.
