- Grace's pen pal, Billy, is the son of the Sultan of Koorestan, a country in the Middle East. Billy has invited Grace for a visit. Despite the fact that Fran would prefer Niles take Grace since Fran could therefore spend time alone with Maxwell, Maxwell talks Fran into escorting Grace alone on this trip. Hence, Maxwell and Fran part company for the time being with an argument hanging between them. With Fran gone, Maxwell is miserable and frustrated about their argument. In Koorestan, Fran initially is homesick despite the fact that the Sultan bears a striking resemblance to a certain Broadway producer. But she begins to love the place. In return, the Sultan seems to love Fran as he asks her to stay forever. Fran politely declines, but the Sultan seems to take whatever measures he deems necessary for Fran to stay. Maxwell decides to head off to Koorestan to see Fran. Upon his arrival, the Sultan denies Fran's suspicions. But there is no denying what Maxwell has to say to Fran.—Huggo
- Billy, a classmate of Grace's, is the son of the Sultan of Koorestan. Billy has invited Grace for a visit to his country for the holiday and Fran is charged to go with her. Angry that Maxwell doesn't want to spend extra time with her Fran's feelings are hurt and she reluctantly goes with Grace. As luck would have it the Sultan looks remarkably like Maxwell. The Sultan desires Fran to stay with him, but Fran begins to miss home terribly. When she and Grace try to leave, they discover their clothes and passports are missing. Meanwhile, Maxwell has begun to regret pushing Fran away and goes to Koorestan to bring her home. Maxwell meets the Sultan and Fran reveals she thinks the Sultan was trying to kidnap them. - Fran wants Niles to accompany Grace on a trip to meet her penpal, but Max says that Fran has to go because he needs Niles to stay home. When they arrive, Fran discovers that the sultan looks an awful lot like Max, but doesn't let it discourage her...until he tries to prevent her from going back to New York. The real Max comes to rescue Fran and the sultan reveals that he didn't intend to make Fran his wife -- just his nanny.
