Dick finds out George has $50,000 in the bank and Dick encourages him to spend and live it up a little.

This begins with a scene with George telling Dick that his paycheck bounced, setting up a funny running joke throughout the episode. Michael and Stephanie rib him about the bounced check, which turns out to be a bank error. J.J. shows up with some donated groceries when he hears that Dick and Joanna are "on the skids". Funniest scene is the final one when the townsfolk show up in a parody of the final scene from "It's A Wonderful Life".

When George admits to Dick and Joanna that he has 50,000 dollars in the bank, Dick sticks his nose in and tells George he should spend a bunch of it. They go shopping and George ends up with a bunch of stuff that Dick would want for himself. Previously, George's paycheck had bounced and somehow the whole town found out about it. Even though it was a bank error, no one will believe that. George ends up taking everyone to a fancy French restaurant, Michael and Stephanie go along to mooch. But things don't go all that well. What happens at the end is pretty funny. I've said before that Dick often feels superior and invades privacy.
