This episode takes place in 1929 and 1964.
On the 1929 newspaper, to the lower right of the lead story about the scientist warning about an alien invasion, there's an article about how "Academy President Harvey Kry, Sr." mocked the scientist's warning. This man was Mary Kry's father-in-law (the bridegroom's father).
Like Feasibility Study (1997), which was also written by Joseph Stefano, this episode involves a teenage couple who elope (or plan to elope) over the objections of the girl's father.
The young couple, Gard and Vivia, are on the run because one or both are "under the age of consent" to get married. In reality, Buck Taylor and Melinda Casey were 26 and 23, respectively, which is well over the age of consent for the time.
The exterior of Mrs. Kry's home was the famous "girls school" facade on MGM's backlot #2. Originally built in 1940 it was used throughout the decades for many different purposes, including private schools, small mansions, administrative buildings, and in Mrs. Kry's case, a vintage boardinghouse.
