Brooke Bundy and Larry Wilcox
kevinolzak4 March 2014
"Heartbreak Keith" finds Keith taking a college course in sociology, quickly falling for his project partner Dory Kimmel (Brooke Bundy). She does not return his affections because, not only is she older (age 23), she's also got a husband (Paul Jenkins). You'd think that would be enough to deter Keith, but in typical fashion he ends up a loser again. The very pretty Brooke Bundy had an extremely busy TV career, while newcomer Larry Wilcox (as a classmate who accepts bribes) would gain everlasting fame on CHIPs. The featured song is "I Heard You Singing Your Song," from the LP BULLETIN BOARD, and composed by Barry Mann, whose original recording appeared on his 1971 album LAY IT ALL OUT.

ENTER THE OLDER WOMAN, AGE 23????
tcchelsey14 October 2023
True, it's a soooo familiar story, but it's all kind of neat to see Keith fall for a more "mature" woman. This time around he's partnered with somebody in a college project, a somebody he just can't take his eyes off. Mercy! The stars flash and he's in love before the first commercial. But is she in love? And isn't there a husband hanging around somewhere???

Typical Patridge family soap opera!

Good acting on the part of Brooke Bundy, a popular teen actress who basically grew up on tv in all sorts of roles, later in cop shows, such as MANNIX and CANNON. Brooke (playing Dory) kind of lets Keith down gently, but it's a long way down for him as he's really into her. This is stuff all of us kids back in the day could relate to, especially having crushes on teachers, too. Yet another famous plot for so many sitcoms.

Look for future CHIPS star Larry Wilcox as a college kid with a side angle, of course. This was the only episode written by old pro Bill Manhoff, who did lots of classic comedies, such as LEAVE IT TO BEAVER. A few years earlier he wrote THE OWL AND THE PUSSYCAT for Barbra Streisand, one of the best comedies of the early 70s. Watch for it.

By the way, check out Dory's cool 70s apartment. The set designers had the best job of all!

For all of us tv buffs, watch as the gang gets off the bus near the end and across the street you could see the famous BEWITCHED house. A sad, sad note as of this past summer (2023) crews began tearing down the famous Warner Brothers lot to make way for new soundstages, and lots of tv memories. The Partridge Family house was actually hit by a fire, rebuilt, then suffered other complications and was finally razed.

Recommended for all of us part time romantics. From SEASON 4 remastered dvd box set.
