Michael Ontkean, 'a Don Juan in shoulder pads'

Warning: Spoilers
"Not with My Sister, You Don't!" finds Laurie excited about dating San Pueblo quarterback Lester Braddock (Michael Ontkean), but Keith worried about her going out with "a Don Juan in shoulder pads." When Shirley reminds Keith about his own reputation, he confesses, "I started those rumors!" Danny naturally gets Keith deeper into trouble, both displaying the classic symptoms of overprotectiveness, following Laurie all over town until Danny breaks things up- "got a match?" (he couldn't ask for a cigarette because he's too young to smoke!). Laurie's anger gives way to forgiveness when Keith implores Lester to give her another try; unfortunately, he actually proves to be true to his reputation, though he won't be throwing any touchdown passes with THAT arm, Laurie proving to be more than a match for the "dirty old man at a very young age." (this plot line would be reused for the very last episode, with Danny protective of Shirley's date). The featured song is "I'll Meet You Halfway," composed by Wes Farrell and Gerry Goffin, issued as the third single May 1971, two months after this broadcast (like its B-side "Morning Rider on the Road," both were included on second LP UP TO DATE).
