Bea Benaderet died after episode #6.4 was completed. In the next two episodes (6.5 & 6.6), her appearance and credit in the title sequence was substituted with new still shots of the hotel and Uncle Joe, and the synchronized line in the song that mentions her character Kate Bradley was also substituted with a new line about the hotel, with Uncle Joe's line in the song staying the same. Beginning with episode #6.7, the first show with new regular June Lockhart, and continuing to the end of the show, the title sequence was changed again with a new shot of Uncle Joe getting up and going into the hotel with Edgar Buchanan's new starring credit, substituting for the still shots (where Benaderet's credit used to be), followed by a new shot of Dr. Janet Craig inside the hotel with Lockhart's onscreen credit (where Buchanan's credit used to be), while the song also changed again to a new line about Uncle Joe as the manager of the hotel followed by another new line about the Lady M.D., Lockhart's character.
Granny (Real character name Daisy Moses) visits Hooterville starting the The Beverly Hillbillies/ 'Petticoat Junction (1963)' crossovers.
Up until this point not once during all of Bea Benaderet's tenure as Kate Bradley was there ever a connection to The Beverly Hillbillies. Despite this a nearsighted Granny (having misplaced her glasses) mistakes Joe for Kate to which the former then says she heard there was a resemblance to Cousin Pearl. Bea Benaderet of course having played Pearl during the Hillbillies first season (with a cameo appearance in the sixth).
Although Bea Benaderet was permanently removed from the show's opening credits, her character of Kate Bradley was referred to twice in this episode as being away.
At the beginning, Betty Jo states that the baby's name will be either Katie Jo or Kathy Jo. At the end, she calls the baby Katie Jo. But then, for the rest of the series, the baby is called Kathy Jo.
