Good episode, probably one of the best of the whole show.

Warning: Spoilers
As some other episodes of this TV series, you have two plots here, two plots with absolutely nothing in common. The investigation itself around a car race where a man died, and the romance line between Earl Holliman and his ex wife who is dying of leukaemia. And useless to say that I am felt more concerned with the second plot, very sensitive, especially between Pepper - Earl Holliman's new girl friend - and the ex wife. So touching, so unusual too. Don't miss the sequence where the two women talk in the hospital room over the fatal issue, and when the dying woman says that she likes Dickinson whilst she is jealous of her. Powerful scene, unforgettable. The criminal investigation side of this story is pure junk. Useless. The ending is also so poignant, where Holliman and his dying ex wife go to Rome for a last trip together, with Pepper joining them to the airport and wishing them a great time. The dying woman's performance is absolutely breathless.
