Eugene

Warning: Spoilers
This one is all about Eugene. The rape cases in this show are always ugly and uncomfortable and this is no exception. It becomes clear the rabbi is probably guilty. Eugene even tries to get a mistrial. The important part of this episode is his relationship with his ex-wife, who was in the courtroom for this one. I thought they might stick with the angry ex-wife angle but they didn't and I'm glad for that. I thought Eugene's handling of the cross-examination was reasonable so for her to be upset over it wouldn't make sense. It was a very bittersweet and logical ending for both characters and their moment in the elevator was nice. Maybe she is realising Eugene just needs someone to pull him out of the job sometimes. I hope they work things out.

Eugene on Trial
Hitchcoc20 June 2022
Eugene catches a high profile case when a rabbi played by Michael Tucker is accused of rape. There are so many extenuating circumstances in her testimony that Eugene can pick it apart. The problem is with the rabbi and his past. Eugene feels sick that he has to go the extra mile on this case. Not a particularly engaging episode.
